About this award

The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) awarded a $150,000 Project Grant under the Promotion of the Humanities Division of Preservation and Access program (CFDA 45.149) to the South Asian American Digital Archive NFP (SAADA) to document the resilience, innovation, and community-building of South Asian American small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project, titled "?STILL STANDING?: STORIES OF RESILIENCE FROM SOUTH ASIAN AMERICAN SMALL BUSINESSES", will train three archival fellows to conduct oral history interviews, collect archival materials, create a digital exhibit, and produce a conference workshop and research paper. The resulting collections will benefit historians, educators, and scholars in migration studies, archival studies, and other humanities fields by exploring the essential contributions of immigrants and first-generation Americans to the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The project will run from Aug 1, 2025 to Jul 31, 2027.
