This $4,060,100 Battlefield Land Acquisition Grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service, CFDA 15.928, will assist the City of Franklin, Tennessee in permanently protecting 0.87 acres of the Franklin Battlefield through a preservation easement held by the Tennessee Historical Commission. The grant enables the City of Franklin, partnering with the nonprofit Franklin's Charge, to acquire the Williams Tract at the Franklin Battlefield site in order to permanently conserve this historic Civil War cultural resource. This project grant, with a period of performance from Sep 2023 to Oct 2026, requires a 1:1 non-federal cost match and will advance the National Park Service's efforts to permanently preserve priority Revolutionary War, War of 1812, and Civil War battlefields across the United States.
