River parishes community college SSS grant

River Parishes Community College received a $272,364 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education under the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program (CFDA 84.042), effective September 1, 2025, through August 31, 2026. The SSS Program provides comprehensive support services designed to enhance postsecondary educational outcomes for disadvantaged students, including those who are low-income, first-generation, or have disabilities. Through this award, the college delivers academic support services aimed at increasing student retention and graduation rates, improving financial literacy, and facilitating successful transfers from two-year to four-year institutions.

The funded initiative supports the college's mission to serve regional students through targeted interventions that enhance academic potential and overall success in higher education. The one-year award reflects a standard project period for SSS grants and positions River Parishes Community College to provide evidence-based supportive services that address the specific educational needs of its disadvantaged student population in Gonzales, Louisiana.
