Trio student support services

Gogebic Community College received a $306,508 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education under the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program (CFDA 84.042), effective September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2026. This award supports comprehensive student support services designed to enhance academic outcomes and increase retention and graduation rates for disadvantaged populations, including low-income students, first-generation college students, and students with disabilities.

The funded program delivers key student support services including academic tutoring, financial literacy education, and graduate school preparation assistance. These services are provided at Gogebic Community College's Ironwood, Michigan campus and aim to improve academic potential, facilitate student success in postsecondary education, and increase transfer rates from two-year to four-year institutions. The award reflects the college's demonstrated commitment to supporting disadvantaged students and aligns with the broader federal objective of increasing postsecondary education access, affordability, and completion for underserved populations.
