About this award

The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded $463,135 to Next Step on March 1, 2026, under the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (CFDA 14.276). The award funds coordinated community services to prevent and end youth homelessness in Las Vegas, Nevada, serving youth aged 24 and younger, including unaccompanied and pregnant or parenting youth. Eligible activities include acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing, short-term and long-term rental assistance on a tenant-based, project-based, or sponsor-based basis, direct supportive services to help participants obtain and maintain housing stability, operating costs for supportive housing, implementation and operation of Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) infrastructure, and program administrative costs. Next Step, a minority-owned and service-disabled veteran-owned nonprofit organization, operates exclusively as a prime grant recipient with no subcontract footprint.
