Description

Kentucky association of sexual assault programs (kasap) rape prevention and education: assessing coalition capacity to advance primary prevention - sexual violence (SV) can lead to worsened physical, mental, and community health outcomes that inhibit kentuckians' ability to thrive. This project will strengthen and enhance kasap's ongoing efforts to prevent SV by assessing and increasing organizational capacity for prevention, including an emphasis on addressing health disparities that create a disproportionate burden of SV on certain populations in the commonwealth of kentucky. Through a primary prevention capacity assessment, kasap will increase understanding of staff expertise and available resources for prevention, increase understanding of available data sources used to identify population(s) and communities of focus, increase understanding of current partnerships and how these partnerships are/are not meeting the current and future primary prevention and health equity work needs, and increase understanding of current technical assistance provision and how well IT incorporates health equity. This capacity assessment will inform recommendations for future action steps to strengthen primary prevention and health equity in kentucky.
