About this award

The Foundation For Agricultural And Rural Resources Management And Sustainability (FARRMS) received a $174,500 Project Grant award from the United States Department of Agriculture National Resources Conservation Service (USDA NRCS) under the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP, CFDA #10.924) to increase local food availability and sustainable production practices that support soil health in North Dakota. Through farmer-led education across the state from September 2021 through August 2023, FARRMS will work to boost the number of local food producers and encourage soil conservation methods among agricultural operations. As NRCS's CSP aims to conserve natural resources through financial and technical assistance to producers, this award will help North Dakota farmers adopt sustainable cultivation practices that preserve soil quality and expand local food production in the region.
