Description

Drug free (DFC) communities support program - the purpose of this program is to increase collaboration and build community stakeholders' capacity to move through a change process aimed to reduce youth substance use. As the coalition moves through the steps of the SPF, we anticipate decreasing past 30-day use of alcohol, nicotine, and marijuana among middle and high school youth through community-level change by 1) including key partners, including schools, youth, parents, businesses, and law enforcement to fulfill the action plan activities, 2) changing community conditions to reduce risk factors and increase protective factors related to youth substance use; 3) reducing youth access to substances of concern; 4)improving systems and processes, and 5) changing community norms that may contribute to youth substance use.
