Description

The goal of this proposed project is to collect biological (age and growth) data on black sea bass from rhode island to contribute to the stock assessment to improve age-structured models for northern black sea bass. This project will address a recognized research need to expand biological data collection programs to support estimation of fishery length and age composition for black sea bass (asmfc, 2023). The project will leverage and unite existing fishery-dependent and -independent studies to collect black sea bass specimens across broad spatial and temporal ranges throughout rhode island.
