Description
Temporal trends in PFAS contamination in northwest atlantic harbor seals: has regulation improved a threat to marine mammal health? Analyze per- and polyfluoroalkyl substance (PFAS) contamination in harbor seals (phoca vitulina vitulina) from the northwest atlantic over a 30-year time frame to determine whether contamination patterns have changed after legislation limiting use of some compounds was implemented. 2. Determine whether contamination varies by age, SEX, or geographic region to understand which populations might be at greatest risk. 3. Relate body burdens of contamination by PFAS to biomarkers of health, including indicators of oxidative stress and metabolic dysregulation.
