Description

This project will develop guidance for planners and communities in the great lakes on the use of climate data, science, and informational resources as they relate to lake level-flood risk and equity to build long term climate resilience. This project will build upon the 2017-2019 NOAA funded research project "incorporating climate science to help communities plan for climate extremes" and develop supplemental guidance for the already published guidebook "using climate information in local planning: a guide for communities in the great lakes." this project will develop two new chapters for the guidebook, the first focusing on lake-level variation and flood risk, and the second focusing on data, tools, and resources for communities seeking more equitable outcomes.
