The Tribe will develop essential resources and infrastructure to support the repatriation of human remains and cultural objects, as well as long-term stewardship of tribal collections. Key deliverables include improvements to existing collections care environments and expanded storage capacity, digitization and digital asset management systems, research and documentation of identified cultural objects and remains, and development of culturally appropriate protocols through consultation with tribal elders and knowledge keepers. The project directly addresses the Tribe's response to more than 70 public notices issued since November 2025 indicating potentially culturally affiliated human remains and cultural objects in museums nationwide.
