Grantee year three funding for suicide prevention grants provided by SSG FOX spgp

The Montachusett Veterans Outreach Center, Inc. (MVOC) was awarded a $324,139 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Veterans Health Administration under the Staff Sergeant Parker Gordon Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (CFDA 64.055). This one-year grant, effective from September 30, 2024 to September 30, 2025, supports MVOC's community-based suicide prevention efforts targeting veterans and their families in Massachusetts.

Specifically, the grant funding enables MVOC to provide outreach, suicide prevention counseling, case management, and connection to VA and community resources. This aligns with the program's objective to implement a public health approach that combines community-based prevention with evidence-based clinical strategies to address veteran suicide risk, as outlined in the VA's National Strategy for Preventing Veteran Suicide. The award demonstrates MVOC's expertise in delivering critical mental health services to the veteran population through targeted federal grant programs.

Suicide prevention grants are awarded to eligible entities to meet the needs of eligible individuals and their families through outreach, provision or coordination of suicide prevention services, and connection to VA and community resources as described in 38 CFR part 78
