The Morris Center for Lowcountry Heritage will partner with local educators to create a new fourth-grade school field trip program serving students in four surrounding counties, with funding of $337,200.00 from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the Museums for America (MFA) grant program (CFDA 45.301). The project activities include recruiting a school programs coordinator, developing field trip resources, training docents, and implementing improved field trip programs that cover local history, arts, and culture. The project will serve 3,400 fourth-grade students and 120 teachers through interactive and engaging cross-disciplinary programs. The award period is from September 1, 2023 to August 31, 2026.
