THIS APPLICATION IS TO REQUEST FY2021 5307 STBG FUNDS IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $30059 AND $7515 IN LOCAL FUNDS MUNCIE LOCAL TAX LEVY TO PURCHASE PASSENGER WAITING SHELTERS. THIS CAPITAL PROJECT WILL PROVIDE MONIES TO PURCHASE NEW ADA COMPLIANT PASSENGER WAITING SHELTERS. THE NEW SHELTERS WILL BE PLACED WHERE DAMAGED SHELTERS WERE REMOVED AND USED TO REPLACE SHELTERS THAT ARE OUTDATED/NOT ADA COMPLIANT. MITS CURRENTLY HAS NO SHELTERS IN STOCK MAINTENANCE PERSONAL HAVE REHABBED/FIXED EVERYTHING THAT THEY COULD HOWEVER SEVERAL VERY BUSY LOCATIONS DO NOT CURRENTLY HAVE SHELTERS BECAUSE THE EXISTING SHELTER HAD BEEN HIT BY VEHICLE(S) AND DESTROYED. THE NEW SHELTERS WILL ALL BE ADA COMPLIANT AND WILL PROVIDE PROTECTION FROM SUN/WIND/RAIN/SNOW/ETC. SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS INCLUDE STATE OF INDIANA STBG TRANSFER LETTER NEPA SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION STIP TIP DOCUMENTATION. PURPOSE: PURCHASE PASSENGER WAITING SHELTERS FOR MITS CUSTOMERS.ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: PURCHASE SHELTERS TO REPLACE DAMAGED AND/OR NON-ADA-COMPLIANT UNITSEXPECTED OUTCOMES: MITS HAS SEVERAL SHELTERS THAT ARE NOT ADA COMPLIANT AS WELL AS EMPTY SHELTER PADS DUE TO THE SHELTERS BEING DESTROYED BY VEHICLES. REPLACING THESE SHELTERS WILL PROVIDE A PLACE FOR PATRONS TO GET OUT OF THE WEATHER AND WAIT FOR THE BUS.
