About this award
This $439,345 project grant from the Department of Transportation's Federal Transit Administration provides operating assistance to the City of Columbus Transit system for the period of January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022. The grant funding comes from the Federal Transit Formula Grants program (CFDA #20.507) and will help support transit capital and operating expenses. Specifically, the grant will help offset lost fare revenue and increased fuel costs experienced by the City of Columbus Transit system due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as the annual appropriation alone was insufficient to cover eligible operating costs during this overlapping grant period.
