The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) awarded a $441,376 Project Grant to the Ellis County Coalition For Health Options Inc., doing business as Hope Clinic, a non-profit organization in Waxahachie, Texas. The grant, funded under the Community Health Centers program (CFDA 93.224), aims to expand mental health services, enhance substance use disorder (SUD) treatment, and integrate these services to provide holistic, patient-centered care. Key objectives include recruiting additional mental health professionals, increasing access to medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), implementing community outreach and education, and training healthcare providers to improve the quality of mental health and SUD treatments. This two-year project, running from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2026, is designed to transform the community's mental health and SUD services landscape and improve overall health outcomes for Ellis County residents.
