This Project Grant award from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the Community Health Centers program (CFDA 93.224) provides $600,000 to La Clinica Del Pueblo, Inc., a 501(c)(3) federally qualified health center (FQHC), to expand mental health (MH) and substance use disorder (SUD) services for low-income, immigrant, and limited English proficient Latinx individuals in the DC-MD-VA region. The funding will enable La Clinica to strengthen MH services by obtaining certification, hiring a psychiatrist and additional therapist, expand SUD services by securing certifications, hiring counselors and a care coordinator, and develop medication-assisted treatment (MAT) prescription capacity. Through these initiatives, La Clinica aims to increase MH and SUD service capacity by at least 20%, reaching an additional 140 MH clients, 50 SUD clients, and providing 100 new MAT prescriptions by the end of the 2-year grant period ending August 2026.
