This Project Grant award of $1,100,000 ($600,000 in Year 1 and $500,000 in Year 2) from the Health Resources and Services Administration's (HRSA) Community Health Centers program (CFDA 93.224) will enable Northwest Health Services, a federally qualified health center, to significantly expand behavioral health and substance use disorder (SUD) services in their 16-county service area in Northwest Missouri.
The funding will allow Northwest Health Services to increase access to mental health and SUD services, including medications for opioid use disorder (MOUD), by expanding behavioral health staffing, integrating mental health services within primary care, utilizing telehealth, and conducting community outreach and education. This project aims to address the significant mental health provider shortages and high rates of deaths of despair in the service region.
