The Boston Mountain Rural Health Center, Inc. (BMRHC) was awarded a $482,194 Project Grant by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) under the Community Health Centers program (CFDA 93.224). The grant will fund an expansion of operating hours at BMRHC's Huntsville, AR clinic location to improve access to primary care, behavioral health, and other healthcare services for the underserved rural population in Madison County. The expanded hours will include evenings, weekends, and most holidays, enabling BMRHC to serve an additional 160 new patients and 740 existing patients through 1,740 patient encounters. This will address significant healthcare access barriers in the region, including long travel distances, lack of public transportation, and difficulties for low-income residents to seek care during normal business hours. The award will support hiring additional clinical and administrative staff to accommodate the extended service availability.
