The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), under the Community Health Centers program (CFDA 93.224), awarded a $500,000 Project Grant to Creek Valley Health Clinic, a non-profit organization in Colorado City, Arizona. The grant will fund the expansion of Creek Valley Health Clinic's operating hours by 7 hours per week, a 14.2% increase, to improve health outcomes, reduce patient wait times, and decrease urgent and emergency room visits in the underserved northern Arizona region it serves. The expanded hours will enable Creek Valley Health Clinic to offer a range of services, including general primary and preventive care, urgent medical services such as RSV, influenza, and COVID-19 screening, and integrated behavioral health services. The clinic will also provide translation and transportation assistance during the extended hours. This project aims to address the significant healthcare access challenges faced by the rural and isolated communities in the "Northern Arizona Strip" region.
