Description
Supportive services for rogue retreat programs - rogue retreat, established in 1998, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that houses over 500 formerly homeless individuals and brings hope to the homeless through life coaching, transitional housing and accountability accomplished through case management, housing inspections, and life-skills training classes. Rogue retreat provides six (6) different levels of transitional housing and shelter including an urban campground w/60 sites, a shelter w/64 beds, a tiny house village w/34 units, recovery housing, medically assisted housing, and 1 and 2-bedroom apartments. Through project turnkey rogue retreat has obtained a 47-unit motel and is renovating the units to studio-style apartments to house the homeless and the victims of the 2020 fires. All these programs are transitional with the goal of helping participants become addiction free, self-sufficient, and permanently housed. Rogue retreat partners with the addictions recovery center, on track, HIV alliance, jackson county mental health, LA clinica, all care, jackson care connect, and other resources to provide wrap-around services as needed by individual participants. As the participants progress, they become eligible for the tiny house village, the recovery houses, or an apartment where the recovery process continues. Rogue retreat has maintained a 60% success rate of participants becoming addiction free, housed, self-sufficient and productive members of the community. Through each of these levels of shelter and housing rogue retreat provides relationship-based case management which is individualized through each program and uniquely tailored to the needs of each participant. Case management has proven invaluable in helping individuals regain self-respect and a belief in themselves and their abilities. IT gives them a place to start and a path to follow which has led many to self-sufficiency. Case managers are trained peer support specialists. They have been trained in trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and client centered listening skills. Once a participant is accepted into one of rogue retreat's housing programs, he/she meets weekly with an assigned case manager to work on the 15 life domains necessary for personal success. Participants set short term and long-term goals with their case manager to measure and track self-sufficiency progress. They are held accountable for progress towards these goals. The program begins with participants obtaining needed credentials i.e., social security cards, I.D.s, birth cert., health insurance, applying for any income benefits and low-income housing. Participants then address personal issues by obtaining a substance use/abuse assessment/treatment, obtaining a primary DR. And dentist, obtaining a mental health assessment and treatment, transportation plan, childcare plan, consulting with consumer credit and creating a budget and other individualized activity. Currently, on any given day, there are 500+ formerly homeless individuals and/or families residing under a rogue retreat roof. The homeless community is a diverse community that includes but is not limited to the mentally ILL, elderly, physically disabled, impoverished, veterans, minority groups, etc. Our programs are transitional. Rogue retreat has an agency success rate of 60% (people transitioning and maintaining permanent housing). As participants regain control of their lives and move into more permanent housing new people start the process of regaining control of their lives. This is an on-going cycle. Rogue retreat is constantly looking for new opportunities to house and guide the homeless population to a life filled with hope and self-sufficiency.
