Description

TRI-county mental health services veteran mental health services - at TRI-county mental health services (tcmhs), we believe that we have a moral and ethical obligation to do what we can to help our service members, veterans and their family members seek the help and receive the services and benefits they are rightfully due. Our veteran's outreach coordinator, LT. COL. Jerry dewitt, helps service member and veterans access the ongoing care and receive the consideration they deserve. LT. COL. Dewitt helps our community's service members, veterans and their family members understand the benefits available to them and how to apply. He provides access to the mental health and substance misuse and care, rehabilitation and other ancillary health services service members and veterans need to recover from the physical and mental impact of military service. Without this outreach, many of those individuals would be unaware of their options and continue on paths that may not be best suited for both their individual and family growth and progress. Population served: service members, veterans and their family members in the tcmhs catchment area that includes androscoggin, cumberland, franklin and oxford counties. Strategies/interventions: the strategies and interventions of this project include, but are not limited to introducing services, answering questions about benefits and helping with benefit applications, partnering with other agencies, assisting with transportation acquisition, suicide prevention interventions, medication coordination (nonclinical capacity), and being consistently available for simple, but important conversations. Goal 1: increase the number of service members, veterans and/or family members who receive behavioral healthcare services with TRI-county mental health services objective: by june 2023, the veteran outreach coordinator will have connected 300 service members, veterans or family members to behavioral healthcare services with TRI-county mental health services. Goal 2: provide information to service members, veterans and/or their family members about the behavioral healthcare services that can be accessed in the community. Objective: by june 2023, the veteran outreach coordinator will have provided information to at least 7,500 service members, veterans and/or their family members about the behavioral healthcare services that be accessed in the community. Based on previous outreach efforts, tcmhs anticipates that LT. COL. Dewitt will reach approximately 300 unduplicated service members, veterans or family members and connect those individuals to needed services with tcmhs. We further anticipate that LT. COL. Dewitt will continue to reach over 10,000 additional individuals who may seek services when they choose to do so.
