Description

Our mission of giving vulnerable children support, opportunity, and hope by bridging the GAP between resources and breaking destructive cycles has been our founding principal. This foundation has enabled US to help thousands of children, serving the largest county in the united states, SAN bernardino, and other neighboring counties. Children's fund believes that all children should have a life free of fear and abuse. Last year alone, we provided more than 62,000 services to children by: giving hope, advocacy, and resources to 1,700 child victims of abuse, gave stabilizing emergency support to more than 2,400 children and their families, awarding foster youth $140,000 in college scholarship and mentoring programs, and brightened the holidays for 56,000 children living in poverty. Children's fund is the flagship organization in the inland empire, with the reputation, capacity, reach, and established partnerships to act quickly in a child's time of need with often life-saving stabilization in ways that other public and private resources cannot. The universal effects of the lockdowns and the covid ERA have gravely impacted our most vulnerable populations, who in the best conditions, are struggling to make ends meet, avoid homelessness, find work, and care for their families. The number of those living in poverty has dramatically increased and the ripple effect of these conditions has created a need for more trauma-informed mental health care for children. This project seeks to address the large waiting lists in our county and greatly increase the number and type of resources we have available to every child that comes through the child assessment center.
