The National Endowment for the Humanities awarded a $200,000 Project Grant to The Baltimore Museum of Art, Inc. under the Promotion of the Humanities Public Programs program (CFDA 45.164) to support the temporary exhibition "Renaissance Woman." Scheduled from October 1, 2023 to January 7, 2024, the exhibition will bring together approximately 150 art objects exclusively made by women artists from collections across North America and Europe. Curated by Dr. Andaleeb Bantam, the exhibition aims to present the first major North American thematic exhibition in over 40 years focusing on European art from the 15th to 18th centuries from a female artist-centered perspective. In addition to the exhibition, the funding will support comprehensive educational and interpretive programming, as well as a 250-page catalogue to increase public understanding of the humanities.
