COMMUNITY PROJECT FUNDING/CONGRESSIONALLY DIRECTED SPENDING - NON-CONSTRUCTION - AN AVERAGE PATIENT IN SNOHOMISH COUNTY LIVES 10-20 MILES AWAY FROM HEALTH CARE SERVICES. FOR THE SNOHOMISH HEALTH DISTRICT'S TUBERCULOSIS CONTROL PROGRAM, CLIENTS ARE REQUIRED TO MAKE ROUNDTRIP VISITS FIVE DAYS A WEEK FOR AT LEAST SIX MONTHS. BY IMPLEMENTING AN ELECTRONIC HEALTH RECORD SYSTEM AND VIRTUAL DIRECTLY OBSERVED THERAPY (VDOT) FOR TUBERCULOSIS CONTROL, OUR PATIENTS AND STAFF WOULD BE ABLE TO ELIMINATE 1200-2400 MILES OF TRAVEL FOR THE TREATMENT DURATION. THIS IS IN ADDITION TO IMPROVING PATIENT EXPERIENCE AND TREATMENT SUCCESS RATES. THE HEALTH DISTRICT WOULD ALSO LIKE TO EXPAND TELEHEALTH TO OTHER MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH AND CHILD CARE HEALTH PROGRAMS.
