About this award
The U.S. Department of Interior Fish and Wildlife Service awarded the Arizona Department of Game and Fish a $252,564 Project Grant under the Clean Vessel Act (CVA, CFDA 15.616) effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028. This award funds the maintenance, repair, and operation of critical sewage pumpout systems and waste reception infrastructure at four Arizona recreational boating facilities. The grant supports comprehensive vessel sanitation services including dock-mounted pumpout stations, mobile pumpout boats, sewage lift stations, pumpout barges, and associated equipment such as control panels, pumps, and holding tanks, as well as sewage disposal fees for hauling waste to municipal wastewater treatment plants.
The funded improvements are distributed across multiple marinas to enhance boater access to proper wastewater disposal. At Antelope Point Marina (Lake Powell), funding supports maintenance and operation of dock pumpout systems and mobile pumpout assets through sub-grantee Antelope Point Holdings, LLC. Roosevelt Marina (Roosevelt Lake) receives support for routine pumpout system maintenance and barge operations through sub-grantee Roosevelt SMI, LLC. Canyon Lake Marina benefits from routine maintenance funding, while Apache Lake Marina receives support for boat slip and boat lift replacement for pumpout operations through sub-grantee Augeo Group LLC. These investments prevent water pollution and protect aquatic wildlife by enabling recreational boaters to properly dispose of marine sanitation waste at Arizona waterways.
