Description
This grant, with a 6-month period of performance, will allow partnerscapes and theservice to continue to collaborate with partners to deliver the premiere national gathering of voluntary private land conservation partners and landowners (private lands partners day). Since 2008, plpd has leveraged the convening power of private landowners to help foster stronger relationships between public and private partners that all seek to engage the same landowners on working lands in rural communities. This gathering in central oregon will not only highlight the accomplishments and partnerships but also serve as an opportunity for those engaged in conservation partnerships all over the country to learn from each other. The agreement will indirectly contribute to on-the-ground restoration through enhancing of partnerships and development of new relationships among partners locally, regionally and nationally.partnerscapes voluntarily foregoes indirect cost reimbursement for purposes of this agreement. Research shows that approximately 66% (or 2 3RDS) of the land in the U.S. In in private ownership. IT is critical to cooperatively engage private landowners to fulfill goals for federal trust species conservation. These goals include those in endangered species act (ESA) down-listing and DE-listing activities. These are found in ESA recovery action plans across the nation. In addition, the prevention of future ESA listings is a by-product of the efforts described in this agreement. This is a very real, or concrete, need exemplified by the not warranted listing decision for the greater sage-grouse in 11 western states. IT was through strong communication and community-based conservation efforts including habitat restoration that led to that decision.
