Description

The door county land trust (dclt) will partner with the wisconsin department of natural resources (wdnr), and natural resources damage assessment trustee council for the lower FOX river green BAY area (nrda) to acquire fee title to three parcels of land, comprising 118.36 acres, in door county, wisconsin. Dclt will implement the land protection activities specified in this proposal and provide long-term management. Dclt will work in cooperation with wdnr, nrda, and private donors to seek funds for over 75 of the land acquisition costs to match the 300,000 in glri- joint venture funds requested. Green BAY shoreline migratory bird habitat protection (wong) will directly support a primary goal of the glri-joint venture habitat restoration and protection grant program through the long-term conservation and management of coastal forests in the western lake michigan region, which provide essential migratory and breeding habitat for a wide range of priority bird species.
