Description
The door county land trust (dclt) seeks to partner with natural resources damage assessment trustee council for the lower FOX river green BAY area (nrda) to acquire fee title to four parcels of land, comprising 22.75 acres, in door county, wisconsin. Dclt will implement the land protection activities specified in this proposal and provide long term management. Dclt will work in cooperation with private donors to seek funds for nearly 75 of the land acquisition costs to match the 227,500.00 in nrda funds requested. Chambers island shoreline habitat protection (CICI2) will directly support a primary goal of the nrda grant program through the long term conservation and management of coastal forests in the western lake michigan region, which provide essential habitat for a wide range of fish, migratory and breeding bird species, and other rare wildlife and plant species.
