Urban search and rescue

This $1,514,884 Project Grant awarded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) under the National Urban Search and Rescue (US&R) Response System (CFDA 97.025) supports the Salt Lake Urban Search And Rescue Task Force, a non-profit organization that specializes in urban search and rescue training and emergency response services for federal agencies. The grant funding, with a period of performance from September 2024 to August 2027, enables the Task Force to maintain its operational readiness and response capabilities, including management, training exercises, vehicle and equipment procurement, storage, and maintenance. The Task Force is a key component of FEMA's National Urban Search and Rescue Response System, functioning as one of 28 national urban search and rescue teams dedicated to providing specialized emergency response capabilities during structural collapses, natural disasters, and other critical incidents. This grant award aligns with FEMA's strategic objectives to promote national preparedness and resilience in emergency response.
