The Career and Technical Education (CTE) facility at Sequim School District is designed to provide students with hands-on training and practical skills in various trades and professions. As a partner in the NOPRC Workforce Development project, SEQUIM SD will purchase and house four Commercial Driver's License (CDL) simulators, initially located in Portable Classroom A1 on the Sequim School District campus. These simulators will be used to train students in safe and effective driving techniques, preparing them for careers in commercial driving. The simulators offer a realistic and immersive experience, allowing students to practice and refine their skills in a controlled environment. In addition to serving Sequim students during the regular school week, the simulators will also be accessible to Peninsula College (PC) partners and community partners after normal school hours and on weekends, provided these sessions are prescheduled to ensure access. This collaborative approach maximizes the use of the simulators and supports a broader range of educational and training needs within the community. The long-term plan is to relocate the simulators to the new CTE Center of Excellence building, scheduled for completion during the 2026-2027 school year, further enhancing the training capabilities and resources available to students and partners.
