Description
Improvements are needed to alleviate repetitive flooding in streets and provide safe vehicle and foot traffic in this growing medical district. Flooding, narrow streets and lack of adequate pedestrian paths have caused issues for the muskogee medical district. The ST francis hospital is the anchor medical institution surrounded by small to midsized medical support businesses. The hospital is one of the largest employers in the county providing high-wage jobs and benefits. The current condition hinders emergency vehicles, business traffic and growth in the area. The project's infrastructure improvements will attract new businesses and investment to the area, leading to economic growth and job creation. The improved transportation infrastructure will also support the expansion of existing businesses and healthcare facilities.
