The Southern Oklahoma Development Association (SODA) was awarded a $300,000 project grant from the Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) to develop and implement a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for a ten-county region in southern Oklahoma under the EDA's Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations grant program (CFDA #11.302). Over a two-year period ending December 2025, SODA will lead a collaborative public-private planning process to create an economic roadmap that diversifies and strengthens the regional economy. As part of this program, EDA supports the creation of CEDS plans to guide regional stakeholders in coordinated economic development efforts.
