The Middle Georgia Regional Commission received a $867,858 project grant award from the Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration's Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations program. The grant will support the development and implementation of a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy for an 11-county region in central Georgia from January 2023 through December 2025. As part of this federally-funded project, the Commission will lead a collaborative public-private planning process to create an economic roadmap that aims to diversify and strengthen the regional economy. The project deliverables will include conducting research, convening stakeholders, and developing a CEDS report and implementation plan to guide regional economic development efforts through 2025.
