THIS EDA PLANNING INVESTMENT SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A NEW COMPREHENSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY (CEDS) FOR THE REGION SERVED BY THE KENAI PENINSULA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT (KPEDD), WHICH COMPRISES THE CITIES OF HOMER, KENAI, SEWARD, AND SOLDOTNA. THE KPEDD WILL UTILIZE GOVERNMENT AND INDUSTRY PARTNERS TO EXPAND EXISTING INFRASTRUCTURE; ADVANCE STABILITY AND RESILIENCE IN TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE; PROMOTE RESPONSIBLE USE OF PUBLIC LANDS; AND ENCOURAGE RESPONSIBLE DEVELOPMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES, WHICH WILL HELP DIVERSIFY AND STRENGTHEN THE REGIONAL ECONOMY.
