The Economic Development Administration awarded a $500,000 Project Grant to the Invest Nebraska Corporation through the Economic Adjustment Assistance program (CFDA 11.307). The funding supports the Heartland Robotics Cluster Coalition led by Invest Nebraska to establish Nebraska as a leader in robotic technologies and advanced manufacturing automation for the agriculture industry. The Coalition will invest in makerspaces, education, workforce development and business incubation to increase labor productivity in agriculture production using new technologies. This technology-based economic development initiative aims to formally develop cluster partners and leverage the state's agricultural strengths to create a resilient regional economy in light of disruptions from COVID-19 and long-term rural labor shortages. The two-year grant period runs from December 2021 through December 2023 with project activities to be performed in Lincoln, Nebraska.
