The Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded $455,000 under the Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations (CFDA 11.302) federal grant program to the Southeastern Montana Development Corporation to develop and implement a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for Custer, Powder River, Rosebud, and Treasure Counties in Montana. Through this January 1, 2022 project grant concluding March 31, 2025, the Southeastern Montana Development Corporation will lead a collaborative public-private sector process to create an economic roadmap. The roadmap aims to diversify and strengthen the regional economy in its four-county area through strategies informed by the CEDS planning process.
