The Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA) awarded $262,500 under the Economic Development Support for Planning Organizations program (CFDA 11.302) to the River Valley Regional Commission to develop and implement a Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) for a 16-county region in Georgia. The CEDS process will bring together public and private sector stakeholders in the region served by the River Valley Regional Commission to create an economic roadmap aimed at diversifying and strengthening the regional economy through January 2024. Specifically, the EDA funding will support the River Valley Regional Commission's work to coordinate the development and regular updates of a CEDS for Chattahoochee, Clay, Crisp, Dooly, Harris, Macon, Marion, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Sumter, Schley, Stewart, Talbot, Taylor, and Webster counties in Georgia.
