Description
Bipartisan infrastructure law - an environmentally sustainable solution to completely recycle and upcycle lithium-ION battery components the overall objective of this project is to develop a novel, complete, and environmentally sustainable solution for recycling end-of-life (EOL) lithium-ION batteries (libs). The specific goals include automated battery pack disassembly, cathode-to-cathode upcycling, anode-to-anode recycling/upcycling, lithium compounds (e.g., LIF and LI3PO4) recovery, and polyvinylidene fluoride (pvdf) binder recovery. Using this new recycling technology, the total recycling efficiency will be over 92%.
