TO BE USED AS THE NURSING AND ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS CENTER. THIS NEW FACILITY WILL BE LOCATED ON THE MAIN CAMPUS OF TREASURE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE (TVCC) IN ONTARIO, OREGON. THE COLLEGE CURRENTLY DOES NOT HAVE ADEQUATE SPACE TO ALLOW FOR TRAINING OF NURSES AND ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS. THE EXISTING SPACE IN THE TECH LAB BUILDING ON THE MAIN CAMPUS OF TVCC HAS ONLY ABOUT 6,000 SQ. FT. DEDICATED TO NURSING-RELATED INSTRUCTION PROGRAMS. THERE IS NO DEDICATED SPACE CURRENTLY AVAILABLE FOR OTHER VITAL AND NECESSARY ALLIED HEALTH PROGRAMS. THE TECH LAB BUILDING WAS CONSTRUCTED IN THE MID 1960'S AND IS OUTDATED IN TERMS OF INFRASTRUCTURE AND DESIGN AS WELL AS WOEFULLY INADEQUATE IN SIZE. A NEW FACILITY IS CRITICAL TO EQUIP AND PREPARE STUDENTS FOR CAREERS IN AN INCREASINGLY AUTOMATED AND TECHNICAL HEAL CARE LABOR MARKET. THE NEW STATE-OF-THE-ART NURSING AND ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONS CENTER IS ANTICIPATED TO BE 2 STORIES CONTAINING APPROXIMATELY 30,000 SQ. FT. OF NEW SPACE. IT IS FELT THAT THIS NEW FACILITY WILL ENABLE THE COLLEGE TO DOUBLE THE CAPACITY OF OUR CURRENT PROGRAMS AND ALSO ADD ENROLLMENT BY PROVIDING FOR NEW PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT.
