Description
There are additional staffing costs that church health incurs to deliver the highest quality training for the medical students and residents. The funding needs include the clinical staff to support the residents (medical assistants, nurses, medical interpreters), administrative staff to coordinate the medical students and providers' time to train the medical students. Information technology and quality staff must devote time to train the students and residents so they can use and learn from the quality improvement processes and the data collected and reported in the medical clinics. Currently, there are not local or state resources to provide this funding. · the added costs of training programs for primary care providers that cannot be otherwise funded falls clearly within the strategic goal 2 of hrsa to foster a health care workforce able to address current and emerging needs, more specifically: o objective 2.1: advance the competencies of the health workforce, including- sub-objective 2.1.2 ensure hrsa-trained providers can address the social determinants of health and emerging health care needs. Sub-objective 2.1.3 increase cultural competency among health care workers. O objective 2.2: improve the distribution and diversity of the health care workforce, including- sub-objective 2.2.2 address shortages by aligning training, recruitment, distribution, and retention of the health workforce to serve in the areas where the need is greatest. Sub-objective 2.2.3 increase the diversity of the workforce and number of individuals from under-represented groups participating in health professions.
