NUCL EAR MEDICINE IMAGINING IS CRITICAL IN TREATING A VARIETY OF CONDITIONS AND/OR TO EVALUATE HOW A PARTICULAR TREATMENT MAY BE WORKING ON THE BODY. ACCORDING TO THE CLEVELAND CLINIC, "NUCLEAR MEDICINE IMAGING IS A METHOD OF PRODUCING IMAGES BY DETECTING RADIATION FROM DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE BODY AFTER A RADIOACTIVE TRACER IS GIVEN TO THE PATIENT. THE IMAGES ARE DIGITALLY GENERATED ON A COMPUTER AND TRANSFERRED TO A NUCLEAR MEDICINE PHYSICIAN, WHO INTERPRETS THE IMAGES TO MAKE A DIAGNOSIS." NUCLEAR MEDICINE IS PRIMARILY USED TO DIAGNOSE AND TREAT ILLNESSES INCLUDING BLOOD DISORDERS, THYROID DISEASE, HEART DISEASE, GALLBLADDER DISEASE, LUNG PROBLEMS, BONE PROBLEMS, KIDNEY DISEASE, CANCER, AND MANY MORE. NUCLEAR MEDICINE EXPANDS ACCESS TO QUALITY OF HEALTHCARE SERVICES, SPECIFICALLY RURAL AREAS SUCH AS CHANUTE. THIS WILL BE VERY CRITICAL TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND BEYOND INCLUDING NEOSHO COUNTY AND IN THE EXTENDED NMRMC SERVICE AREA'S CONTIGUOUS COUNTIES, INCLUDING ALLEN COUNTY, WILSON COUNTY, AND LABETTE COUNTY. FURTHERMORE, THE PROJECT WILL IMPROVE HEALTH OUTCOMES FOR THE POPULATION.
