PROPOSED SERVICES THE PROPOSAL INCLUDES THREE MAJOR ELEMENTS: 1) MODERNIZATION AND STANDARDIZATION OF LAB EQUIPMENT ACROSS ALL THREE CAMPUS LABS CONSISTENT WITH WHAT STUDENTS WILL BE USING IN THEIR CLINICAL AND PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE, 2) DEVELOPMENT OF STANDARDIZED SIMULATION CAPABILITIES ACROSS ALL THE CAMPUS LABS TO IMPROVE CLINICAL PREPARATION OF NURSING STUDENTS, AND 3) RENOVATE THE NURSING LABS TO FACILITATE AND SUPPORT THESE EQUIPMENT AND SIMULATION UPGRADES. POPULATION(S) SERVED THE COLLEGE PREPARES OVER 150 STUDENTS ANNUALLY FOR PRACTICAL NURSE LICENSURE AND REGISTERED NURSE LICENSURE. IT IS NOT AN UNDERESTIMATION TO SAY THAT THE REGION'S HEALTHCARE NETWORK (I.E., HOSPITALS, NURSING HOMES, URGENT CARE CENTERS, AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE SETTINGS) WOULD BE UNABLE TO EFFECTIVELY STAFF THEMSELVES WITHOUT THE PIPELINE OF LPNS AND RNS THAT HAVE BEEN PREPARED AT NCCC. AN INVESTMENT IN UPDATING THESE NURSING LABS WILL STRENGTHEN THAT PIPELINE OF NURSING ST UDENTS BY IMPROVING THEIR CLINICAL ABILITIES THROUGH MODERNIZING TECHNOLOGY AND EQUIPMENT, AND, ULTIMATELY EQUIPPING THEM WITH KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS TO HELP SAVE LIVES IF AND WHEN NECESSARY. THE REGION, WHICH INCLUDES THE ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS, THE ST. LAWRENCE VALLEY, AND THE CHAMPLAIN VALLEY, IS A DESTINATION FOR TOURISTS. IN ADDITION TO RESIDENTS OF THE REGION, VISITORS (OF WHICH THERE ARE MANY) WILL BE ASSURED OF THE QUALITY AND CALIBER OF THE NURSING CARE AVAILABLE, SHOULD IT BE NECESSARY FOR THEM TO RECEIVE.
