SULLIVAN COUNTY HEALTH CARE IS A 156-BED NURSING HOME OWNED AND OPERATED BY SULLIVAN COUNTY (NH). THE NURSING HOME COMPLEX CONSISTS OF 3 FACILITIES BUILT IN 1931, 1970, AND 1997 AND TOTALING APPROXIMATELY 100,000 SQUARE FEET. THE TWO OLDEST BUILDINGS ARE OBSOLETE AND FEATURE INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS THAT ARE AT OR BEYOND LIFE EXPECTANCY AND AN INTERNAL LAYOUT THAT DOES NOT MEET CURRENT FEDERAL REGULATIONS FOR LONG-TERM CARE FACILITIES. THIS PROJECT WILL BRING SULLIVAN COUNTY HEALTH CARE UP TO MODERN STANDARDS BY DEMOLISHING THE 1931 FACILITY, COMPLETELY RENOVATING THE 1970 FACILITY, REFRESHING THE 1997 FACILITY, AND ADDING ON NEARLY 80,000 SQUARE FEET OF NEW SPACE FOR RESIDENTS AND STAFF. THE PROJECT'S SCOPE WILL MAINTAIN THE CURRENT 156-BED CAPACITY AND EXPECTED COST $57,000,000. THE PROJECT IS 100% DESIGNED AND READY TO GO PENDING FINAL APPROVAL OF THE SULLIVAN COUNTY DELEGATION AND SUBCONTRACTOR BIDDING PROCESS. PHASE 1 OF THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN IN THE FALL OF 2022 TO RELOCATE STEAM DISTRIBUTION LINES TO FACILITATE DEMOLITION OF THE 1931 BUILDING BEFORE VERTICAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW ADDITION BEGINS IN THE SPRING OF 2023. THE $2,000,000 CONGRESSIONALLY-DIRECTED SPENDING FUNDING WILL BE SPENT ON THE PHASE 1 WORK AND IS EXPECTED TO BE OBLIGATED IN THE FALL OF 2022 AND EXPENSED WITHIN 6 MONTHS ASSUMING THE BALANCE OF PROJECT FUNDING IS SECURED IN THE SUMMER OF 2022.
