Description
Medical equipment project is to secure medical equipment needed throughout OBH, to replace obsolete equipment items and to expand and upgrade service capacity and delivery. The new state-of-the-art equipment items will improve patient health outcomes through early and effective diagnosis, increase patient safety, and improve overall patient experience. OBH-brookdale hospital medical center campus is requesting 15 endoscopes to expand and upgrade the service capacity, delivery, and quality of care of the endoscopy department, in its provision of various endoscopic evaluative, diagnostic, and treatment services for patients referred from various points of service throughout the hospital. Improved quality and access to endoscopic services will result in improved and earlier identified diagnosis and care. Through the acquisition of six (6) ICU smart hospital beds, the brookdale campus will replace its current obsolete hospital beds in its cardiac intensive care unit, to upgrade and improve the quality of its service delivery, patient care, and health outcomes. The smart hospital beds are designed for improved safety in preventing patient falls, and to facilitate early patient movement, from the bed lateral rotation, vibrations, and percussions, to be used in conjunction with the hill-ROM, breath, tilt, SIT progressive mobility programme. Early patient movement helps with better patient breathing, prevents muscle atrophy and renal and gastrointestinal issues, protects patients' skin from pressure ulcers, and helps to prevent hospital-acquired infections; resulting in increased positive patient health outcomes, and a reduction in patient ICU length of stay with fewer readmissions. OBH-interfaith medical center campus is requesting various equipment items to expand service capacity, delivery, patient access, and the overall patient experience at the newly renovated OBH-IMC bishop walker ambulatory care center and its recently established women and adolescent health care center. Starting with the patient reception/waiting room area, OBH-IMC is securing 12 orthopedic and 10 bariatric chairs, to accommodate patients with disabilities, chronic condition, bariatric conditions, and in recovery from various types of surgery. For the examination rooms, OBH-IMC is requesting 18 ADA compliant barrier-free examination tables to replace its current obsolete tables, to limit patient and staff safety risks and ensure the comfortability and stability of all patients and visitors-to include the elderly, expectant mothers, wheelchair patients, bariatric patients, and others with low mobility. OBH-IMC will improve and upgrade its service capacity and delivery in its ultrasound, x-RAY, pediatrics, and ophthalmology departments through the acquisition of one (1) ultrasound machine, one (1) dexa bone density scanner, one (1) spot vision screener, and three (3) retinavue teleretinal programs. To ensure patient safety and comfortability, one (1) patient stretcher is being requested to enable the transport of injured or highly immobile patient within the facility.
