Description

Community project funding/congressionally directed spending - construction - manet community health center, INC. (manet) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, fqhc operating six primary care practice sites, four in quincy, one in taunton, and a new site in attleboro serving the communities of southeastern MA. Manet attleboro opened late july 2021, at 8 north main street, in downtown attleboro within leased space at the bronson building. For more than 40 years without interruption, manet has provided quality, compassionate health care to all, regardless of ability to pay and ensuring that no patient is left behind. Manet has been consistently accredited by the joint commission since 1999 with the most accreditation in october 2022. With the high rate of disparities among them, manet has chosen to focus in the attleboro region on low-income senior and elders, families, new arrivals, residents of public housing, and patients that have gone without access to continuity care, and a primary care access point, and housing unstable and homeless. Approximately 53% of manet's patients are covered by publicly funded programs, and 75.3% of patients have incomes at or below 200% FPL. Manet delivers compassionate, culturally, linguistically sensitive programs and services for all ages, including acute and preventive care, medical nutrition therapy, chronic disease management, infectious disease care, specialty access, diagnostic laboratory, HIV/STI prevention and risk assessment, case management, OB/GYN care, lgbtq care, opioid overdose prevention/naloxone training and distribution, health insurance navigation, behavioral health services, treatment for substance use disorders, telemedicine services and covid-19 services for registered patients and the community. As noted, in july 2021, manet CHC opened its newest site in attleboro. Currently the site, (phase i) comprised of 2900 SQ FT has four exam rooms and a waiting area and has receive over 1000 patients since its opening. The congressionally directed spending (CDS) for construction, h RSA 22-134 makes possible this needed expansion to add and realize: new main entrance, six (6) new exams rooms, two (consult) spaces, a group provider office and larger waiting room to ensure comprehensive, low-barrier, accessible, equitable and integrated care. The 8 n. Main street site has 6,200 total square feet of space with the expanded space at 3588 SQ FT is readily accessible by public transportation and is proximal to the public housing community. The practice is near sturdy memorial hospital where manet has an existing referral arrangement. The site is walking distance from the senior center, bristol county community college, community counseling of bristol county, and the attleboro ymca. Access to care remains hampered by the scarcity of primary care providers available to area residents. The PCP ratio in bristol county is 1,830:1, and with this top of mind, manet expects to begin the expansion (phase II) in august 2022. Manet's primary care providers, support staff, nutritionist, and behavioral health team will serve an additional 1,300 patients in YR 1 with the completion of the expansion at 8 north main ST.
