Description

Community project funding/congressionally directed spending - construction - the congressionally directed funding will support the construction of savio's family residential campus in lakewood, colorado. This campus will house the first treatment program in the nation that allows a parent needing addiction treatment, their partner, and their children to receive holistic, full-family care in an innovative residential setting. The family residential program will intervene when a child is at imminent risk of being removed from their home and placed in foster or group care due to a parent's substance misuse. Six pilot residential townhome units will allow the entire family to remain together during treatment. The family-centered treatment will also include a treatment plan for each family member. Families will receive substance use disorder treatment, family preservation services, evidence-based trauma and mental health interventions, and case management. By treating the entire family, savio will be utilizing an innovative approach to supporting the most vulnerable families in our community and ending generational cycles of addiction and system dependence. The congressionally directed funds will provide about 8% of funding needed for the initial construction and labor costs of the project.
