THE ISI IS A RESULT OF A DIRECTIVE TO DESIGN A NEW CURRICULAR MODEL TO REINVIGORATE THE HUMANITIES AT MANHATTANVILLE, WHERE, AS AT INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION NATIONWIDE, WE SEE A TREND OF DECLINING ENROLLMENT IN TRADITIONAL HUMANITIES COURSES AND MAJORS.
