The arizona state university art museum will partner with the hispanic research center to create the latinx art & culture curatorial fellows and internship program

The Arizona State University Art Museum, in partnership with the Hispanic Research Center, received a $690,049 Project Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) under the American Latino Museum Internship and Fellowship Initiative (CFDA 45.031). The grant, awarded on August 1, 2024, will fund the creation of the Latinx Art & Culture Curatorial Fellows and Internship Program. This initiative will expand fellowship and internship opportunities, produce a bilingual publication on Chicano/a/x prints and objects, and develop an online course on Chicano/a/x art history. The funds will support the purchase of exhibition materials, the publication of the text prepared by the fellows, travel for the fellows to engage with a network of curators, and the production of the online course. The primary outcomes include diversifying the museum curatorial field through job skill and professional network development.

The project will expand fellowship and internships opportunities, create a fully illustrated and bilingual text on chicano/a/x prints and objects, and develop a cross-disciplinary online course on chicano/a/x art history.
